Paneer Paratha

I have made this recipe only a few times years ago. I decided to try it again today as I needed something for packed lunch.


You will need
3 cups of whole wheat flour

For the filling
2 cups Paneer, shredded
1 cup Cilantro, diced
1 tsp. Chili powder
1 tsp. Cumin seed
1 tsp. Amchur powder
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. Turmeric
Salt to taste

Knead the whole wheat flour with water to form dough.


In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients for the filling. Mix well, do not knead.


Divide the dough in lemon size balls. Keep a little wheat flour handy.


Flatten a ball of dough in the palm of your hand. Place a big spoonful of filling and close the dough over the top. Roll in the wheat flour and place on a rolled board.


Roll out to desired size.


Heat a griddle pan. Add a few drops of oil and place the rolled out paratha on it. Let it cook for a couple minutes until brown. Turn over.


Let brown on the other side.


Remove from heat. Repeat for all the parathas.


Enjoy with yogurt and pickle.
