Steamed Vegetables in Butter Sauce

I found some fresh broccolini in the grocery store the other day and my first thought was steamed vegetables. I added some carrots and steamed them in the steamer bucket of my rice cooker. Drizzled some butter sauce over the top. Delicious!

You will need
1 bunch broccolini
2 carrots
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. lemon zest

Rinse and clean the broccolini. Remove thick dense stems and keep side. Peel the carrots and sut into slices. Combine the carrots and broccolini to the steamer and steam until just cooked.

Meanwhile add the remaining ingredients in a bowl and whisk together.

Once the vegetables are done remove them from the steamer and let them cool. Add the cooled vegetables to the bowl of butter sauce. Combine and enjoy!

    1. Kalyani, broccolini is a cross between broccoli and kale.

  2. Oh I didn't knw about this vegetable..very interesting..steamed dishes are healthy..very nice one and I enjoyed your good of you to take up this challenge..:)

  3. Never tried cooking with broccolini,those steamed vegetables are just inviting me to have rite now..ur steamer rocks.

  6. Don;t think I have tried broccolini, but we love broccoli -- so will try this dish with broccoli.

  7. the contrast of colors with the two veggies you utilized is great contrast which makes this simple dish so inviting and appetizing
